The Best of Enemies?

Hello Lancashire!

For fantastic Lancashire wedding boutiques and venues as well as ideas for stag and hen dos go to http://www.iweddingsinlancashire.co.uk.  If you are stuck for something to do in Lanashire go to http://www.insidelancashire.co.uk

Our rabbits, Bandit and Asbo, are the best of enemies.... we can see them cuddling up to one another one moment and then chasing trying to bite one another the next.  Although in truth, only Bandit  bites Asbo.  He tears after him as though he wants to kill him,  I'll have to post some video!

In revenge, Asbo jumps out at him at unexpected moments to surprise and frighten him.  They are an odd couple but fortunately both male so we wouldn't have half a dozen rabbits attacking the wooden skirting on our stairs instead of just two... .

The point is that you can love someone and be blissful with them one moment and next be at complete loggerheads... Funny isn't it? - especially little things can drive you both crazy - like the way they eat food to the way they drive the car.
 .
So how does marriage work?  Well to me you take all the compatibility quizzes you like but really it comes down to one thing -  LOVE!!! The love that gazes into the other person's eyes and loses itself completely in the other, the love that makes you levitate, that makes the moon shine brighter, that allows you to understand all those stupid pop songs!!!!

But it must be equal, true and it must be unwavering....

That is why, Lancashire, we need marriage more than ever!  Marriage shows that we are long term, that we are willing to risk everything body, mind and soul on a ridiculously crazy but magically wonderful vison that we can truly be happy with one person for the rest of our lives!

And that is how it should be... :-)

Crazy Wedding Proposals in Lancashire

I've been discovering the world of twitter, developing our website at www.iweddingsinlancashire.co.uk and busy looking after out two Asbo rabbits that appear to want to eat us out of house and home -  literally!  I've recently had to extensively repair our stairway as they have gnawed away large parts of the skirting at either side of the stairs!  Ah well, the price of love eh?

Which leads me nicely on to my next topic... . Proposals should be imaginative don't you think?  Romance demands that one takes chances, jump into the flames, burns for love and so forth.  We need to be a bit mad and show our beloved that we will go to any lengths necessary to woo them .  Therefore, showing a bit of imagination is just the ticket to help get the 'Yes!' we crave

Here are several ideas for proposals that should get the pulse racing

 1. Hire dancers for a flash mob marriage proposal!  Many of these have been done in America but it is starting to come over her too!

Check out these local Lancashire suppliers for this...

2.  Show someone that you mean business by falling for them literally!!!

Don't do this at home kids... (I'm not being party to recommending a supplier for this one!)

3. Get the Local Lancashire Cinema to show a trailer which features your suprise marriage proposal! ... Like this guy did in America. Brings a tear to mine eye as it did his Bride to Be at firs...  Check the link below to be blown away!

4. Propose using an underwater sign when snorkelling with sharks at Sea Life Uk at Blackpool!

5.  Have a Lancashire plane company display your proposal in the sky!

The Inside Gen on Lancashire Wedding Venues

Welcome back!  I've recently researched many great wedding venues around Lancashire (160ish).  These days venues account for nearly half of the average costs of weddings, so what gives?

The type of costs you incur depends on the type of venue you book and also the range of services provided. For example, halls tend to charge for room hire whereas hotels and restaurants do not.   Also, many hotels offer to manage the whole event whereas halls tend to offer services more selectively.

So before you book be clear on what services you want from the venue!

See below for "The Ten Things To Think About When Booking  A Venue":

  1. Does the venue hold a Wedding License or do you need to book a ceremony elsewhere?
  2. Will you be charged a room hire fee?
  3. Do you require overnight room booking and/or a wedding breakfast?
  4. Are you looking at an afternoon lunch / buffet and also a wedding supper?
  5. Are you wanting to pay for a drinks package for your guests?
  6. Will the venue provide the cake, entertainment, flowers, transport, decorations etc?
  7. Are you looking to book at peak times like summer and/or weekends?
  8. Can the venue cater for your guest numbers?
  9. Do you want exclusivity at your venue?
  10. What kind of cancellation fees are charged?

Lancashire: Coastal or Country Heaven

Hey there, my name is Michael.  I work over at I Weddings In Lancashire Ltd (I WILL)- yes,I know a lot of people say 'I do' -but my Mrs and I - when we tied-the-knot, were told by our registrar that we were going to say I WILL.  So there you go!

We held our wedding in Lancashire and both think that our county has it all when it comes to holding a memorable occasion.  So this blog is basically about trying to make everyone see what we are making so much fuss about!

The great thing in Lancashire is that we are surrounded by beautiful countryside and dramatic seaside locations.  Areas around Clitheroe, the Ribble Valley,  feature lovely, rolling country fine as any in England. Whereas the Fylde Coast: provides quaint, atmospheric locations of sand and sea.  When the sun lulls across the horizon, the entire blue yonder is lavished with ravishing pinks, oranges and lilacs reflecting back off rippling waves.

So you can still obtain amazing wedding photos and a fantastic overall wedding experience in drop-dead gorgeous surroundings even if your venue is on the less extravagant side.
